About the Uni Kuru Toga DIVE M5-5000 Mechanical Pencil

The Uni Kuru Toga DIVE brings together two advanced writing technologies in a single 0.5 mm mechanical pencil: the signature Kuru Toga Engine, which rotates the lead as you write, and an automatic lead-extension mechanism designed to reduce the need for manual knocking.

As you write, the Kuru Toga Engine rotates the lead to help distribute wear more evenly around its circumference. This helps maintain a consistently sharp writing point and a more uniform line. At the same time, the automatic lead-extension system advances the lead according to your selected setting, allowing you to continue writing with fewer interruptions.

The DIVE also introduces a dedicated 5-level adjustment dial, allowing you to control the amount of lead exposed by the automatic extension mechanism. The different settings can be matched to your writing pressure, writing style and lead hardness, giving you greater control over the writing feel.

Design Details:

  • Automatic Lead Extension: The internal mechanism automatically advances the lead during writing, reducing the need to repeatedly press the rear knock.
  • 5-Level Adjustment Dial: Choose from five lead-extension settings to control the amount of lead advanced by the automatic-feed mechanism.
  • Magnetic Cap: The DIVE uses a magnetic cap to protect the writing tip. Its cap mechanism works with the automatic-feed system so the pencil can be ready to write when uncapped without requiring an initial knock.
  • Coated ABS Resin Barrel: The body uses ABS resin with a sophisticated surface finish rather than a solid metal construction, keeping the pencil relatively lightweight despite its substantial appearance.
  • Rubber Grip: A firm rubber grip provides a secure, comfortable hold while complementing the pencil's distinctive capped design.
  • Four Colours: Available in Aurora Purple, Twilight Orange, Abyss Blue, and Dense Green, all using a 0.5 mm lead.
