The Kaweco Piston Sport AL Fountain Pen – Bordeaux gives the metallic piston filler a rich, luxurious new look. Its robust aluminium body is finished in a highly durable anodised red surface with a high-quality, velvety feel in the hand, while gold-plated elements add an elegant touch that harmonises with the deep red.

Kaweco's history dates back to 1883, and the piston mechanism is a time-honoured way of filling a fountain pen. The smooth-running piston draws ink directly from the bottle into the pen's built-in ink chamber, making cartridges unnecessary and opening up an unsurpassed variety of ink colours, many of which are only sold in bottles. A transparent ink window lets you monitor the ink level at all times.

One of the smallest piston fillers in relation to its ink volume, the pen measures just 10.5 cm when closed and around 13 cm with the cap posted. The balance between weight and diameter keeps your hand relaxed even during long writing sessions. It is fitted with a German-made 190 nib unit in gold-plated stainless steel, available in sizes from Extra Fine (EF) to Double Broad (BB) and easily exchangeable to suit your writing style.

Available as a Starter Set with a 32 ml bottle of Royal Blue ink or as a pen-only version, the Piston Sport AL Bordeaux arrives in Kaweco's classic round metal tin, ready to give as a gift.
